The Iraq Moratorium is an escalating, monthly series of actions
demanding an end to the war. Held the Third Friday of every month, we will make a
break with business as usual. We will: Wear and distribute black
ribbons and armbands; Buy no gas on Moratorium days; Pressure
politicians and the media; Hold vigils, pickets, rallies, and
teach-ins; Hold special religious services; Coordinate events in music,
art, and culture; Host film showings, talks, and educational events;
Organize student actions: Teach-ins, school closings, etc.
Founded in 1977, Ground Zero Center for Nonviolent Action offers the
opportunity to explore the meaning and practice of nonviolence from a
perspective of deep spiritual reflection, providing a means for
witnessing to and resisting all nuclear weapons, especially Trident. We
seek to go to the root of violence and injustice in our world and
experience the transforming power of love through nonviolent direct
action.

Veterans For Peace includes men and women veterans of all eras and duty
stations including from the Spanish Civil War (1936-39), World War II,
the Korean, Vietnam, Gulf and current Iraq wars as well as other
conflicts. Our collective experience tells us wars are easy to start
and hard to stop and that those hurt are often the innocent. Thus,
other means of problem solving are necessary.
Iraq Veterans Against the War (IVAW) was founded by Iraq war
veterans to give a voice to the large number of active duty
service people and veterans who are against this war, but are under

The Voices in Wartime Education Project has a simple idea: Use art and
education to transform the consciousness of young people. Give teachers
and students a way to explore the most important and terrifying issues
of our day. Create a dialogue in which all voices can be heard, and all
points of view included, without engendering fear, hatred, or anger.

requires high schools to turn over private information on students to
military recruiters? And that the Pentagon has created an illegal

email addresses, cell phone numbers, ethnicities, social security
numbers, extracurricular activities, and areas of study? What to
do about it? Here's your one-stop shop for all you need to know

Vietnam Veterans Against the War, Inc. (VVAW) is a national veterans'
organization founded in 1967 after six Vietnam vets marched
together in a peace demonstration. It was organized to voice the
growing opposition among returning servicemen and women to the
still-raging war in Indochina, and grew rapidly to a membership of over
30,000 throughout the United States. We believe that service to our
country and communities did not end when we were discharged. We remain
committed to the struggle for peace and for social and economic justice
for all people. We will continue to oppose senseless military
adventures and to teach the real lessons of the Vietnam War. We will do
all we can to prevent another generation from being put through a
similar tragedy and we will continue to demand dignity and respect for
veterans of all eras. This is real patriotism and we remain true to our
mission.
Peaceful Tomorrows is an organization founded by family members of
those killed on September 11th who have united to turn our grief into
action for peace. By developing and advocating nonviolent options and
actions in the pursuit of justice, we hope to break the cycles of
violence engendered by war and terrorism. Acknowledging our common
experience with all people affected by violence throughout the world,
we work to create a safer and more peaceful world for everyone.
